The inspiration for the business came from the children of the Shivley family.

"When I became pregnant with our first child - the nesting instinct hit hard, and when I expressed renewed interest in sewing - my husband bought me my first Husqvarna Viking sewing machine!
As he would tell me later; "It was the only way to get you to sit down once in a while." Little did we know what an instrumental change it would bring to our growing family in the years to come.
I started sewing blankets waiting for our baby's arrival, then dresses and all things girly after our daughter; Rona, was born.

My Love
in the heart of the mountains

It wasn't until she was a much more active toddler that I realized what a beating her clothes were taking. One day while playing outside she took one of her worst tumbles to date. After drying the tears and bandaging the cuts, I noticed one of her favorite pairs of pants had also taken damage. These were not just any pair of pants - these were her "Princess Pants." She sat beside me while I made the repair to the knee of the pant leg - both of us anxious waiting to see how it would turn out. Later, her smile would say it all. She was so excited to now have "Patch Pants" and wore them everyday right up until she grew into the next size. Now with another young daughter; Alannah, and a small business, I look forward to many more years of sewing for my family and my community."
